THA Welcomes International Students

During the 2026/2027 winter semester, nearly 100 international students will spend a semester abroad at THA. They come from Argentina, Belgium, China, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, and Ukraine. Once again this year, the International Office, together with the SWOP team, the faculties, and several support services, has organized the Welcome Week before the official start of the semester: The goal is to help newcomers settle in Augsburg and at THA, connect them with one another, and introduce them to various support services.

Under the title “Near and Far,” the series will bring together renowned architects, recent award winners, and experts from the fields of research, professional practice, and building culture during the 2026–27 winter semester.

From culinary island worlds to a defensive dragonfly, surreal puzzles, and a cooperative space mission: The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) is presenting four games developed by students at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne. The projects “Flavour Fare,” “Odonata Augmenta: Rogue Dragonfly,” “Inkorus,” and “They Sent Us Both” will be on display from August 26 to 30 at the RAW TALENT joint booth in Hall 10.2, Booth E-42, at Koelnmesse.

THA and Hessing Launch Educational Partnership for Bachelor Program in Medical Technology

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) and the Hessing Foundation have agreed to a long-term educational partnership for the new bachelor program in Medical Technology. Starting in the winter semester of 2026/2027, the Hessing Foundation will contribute its medical and clinical expertise to the students’ education. The THA is responsible for the engineering content, its integration into the curriculum, and academic quality assurance.

Prof. Dr. Frank Danzinger, Professor of Digital Business, Prof. Dr. Eva Lermer-Spitzweg, Research Professor in Business Psychology; Prof. Dr. Martina Königbauer, Professor of Systematic Product Development; and Prof. Dr. László Kovács, Professor of Ethics and Politics, make up the new Vice-Presidium of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. They were unanimously elected to their positions yesterday, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, by the University Council of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg. Together with President Prof. Dr. Gordon Thomas Rohrmair and Chancellor Sandra Scholl, they will form the Executive Board of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg effective October 1, 2026.

From Building Blocks to Broad Prospects for the Future: Working Together to Promote STEM Education

Despite the summer heat, everyone was thrilled: In partnership with the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg (THA) and TUXEDO Computers, St. Anna Elementary School in Augsburg received ten LEGO SPIKE Essential sets.
